Nursery children at St Cuthbert's Catholic Primary School in Stockton have been enjoying a week full of learning, creativity and discovery as they continued their topic, All About Me.
Through a range of engaging activities, pupils have been exploring what makes them unique while building confidence, developing friendships and learning more about themselves and the world around them.
Learning About Family and Identity
As part of their topic work, the children spent time talking about their families and sharing stories about the people who are important to them.
They also created pebble families and self-portraits, giving pupils a chance to express themselves creatively while celebrating their individuality.
Bringing Stories to Life in English
In English, the class enjoyed reading Maisy Goes to Nursery, using the story as a starting point for a variety of fun learning activities.
The children sequenced pictures from the story, discussed their favourite parts and enthusiastically re-enacted a music lesson. They also painted houses inspired by those featured in the book, helping to bring the story to life through imaginative play and creativity.
Exploring Sorting in Maths
Nursery pupils have also been developing their mathematical understanding by exploring different ways to sort objects.
Using cubes and blocks, the children investigated grouping items by size, shape and colour, helping to strengthen their early problem-solving and reasoning skills through hands-on learning.
Celebrating Uniqueness in RE
In Religious Education, pupils discussed how God made each person special and loves everyone for who they are.
To celebrate this message, the children created heart-shaped playdough cut-outs, reflecting on what makes each of them unique and valued.
A Fantastic Week of Learning
The week has been filled with opportunities for children to learn, create and grow in confidence while forming new friendships.
Staff have been delighted with the enthusiasm shown by the pupils, making it another successful and enjoyable week in Nursery at St Cuthbert's Catholic Primary School.
